2023 MISSISSIPPI STATE MEETING AT VICKSBURG MS

Vicksburg, MS -- On August 26, 2023, the State Organization of Mississippi of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. held its 32nd Annual Statewide Workshop at the Vicksburg Convention Center. The meeting was hosted by Eta Tau (Vicksburg) and Eta (Alcorn University) Chapters, with Brother Jerry Russ serving as State Marshal. The theme for the meeting was “Building Omega’s Legacy by the Bonds of Brotherhood”. Over 300 Brothers registered for the event.

During the meeting, Brothers from around the 7th District of Omega Psi Phi transcended upon Vicksburg to handle the business of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. The meeting featured a STEM community service project, an Omega training camp, a park dedication, a Salvation Army community service project, a high school talent hunt competition, a stepshow, a state representative reception, and an OWT on the RIVER social event. Numerous scholarships and chapter recognitions were distributed during the state meeting. After state elections, the following brothers were installed as state officers by the Brotherhood: Bro. Carlos D. Palmer, Esq., State Representative, Bro. Tredrick Johnson, 1st Vice State Representative, Bro. Cyrus Vance, State Kepper of Records and Seal, Bro. Derrick Garner, State Keeper of Finance, Bro. Oliver Clark, State Counselor, Bro. Vick Hudson, State Director of Public Relations, Bro. Christopher Barnett, Immediate Past State Representative, Bro. Ray Shoemaker, State Marshal, and Bro. Michael James, State Chaplain. The 2024 Mississippi State Meeting is scheduled for August 23-25, 2024. Bro. Ray Shoemaker will serve as State
